WHAT IMPACT WILL DIGITAL FASHION HAVE ON GENERATION Z?
ABSTRACT

Digital fashion is a growing, innovative sector of the fashion industry that involves many elements including digital clothing collections, augmented reality, smart mirrors, 3D designing software, digital influencers and large advancements in technology. This futuristic part of the industry is still in its early years; therefore, it is important that we investigate what impact it may have on the upcoming consumer: Generation Z.

 

This dissertation intends to investigate where the rise of digital fashion came from in order to determine how developed it is within the fashion industry. Alongside considerations into the inclusivity of digital fashion, the technological advances needed to sustain it and opinions from Generation Z’s in order to investigate what impact digital fashion may be having on this generation.

 

A mixture of primary and secondary research will be carried out as a part of the research approach in order to focus the research needed to complete this dissertation. Primary research will include two online questionnaires completed by Generation Z consumers, interviews with industry professionals and focused Instagram polls in order to gain solid primary research. Secondary research will be conducted by examining magazines, journals, books, articles and other sources.
